WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic specializes in spinal analysis to identify and treat the problems or diseases of the spine. Chiropractors treat vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a result of a misaligned or dysfunctional spinal segment. It might occur with or without symptoms. Chiropractors check the integrity of the nervous system, muscles, tendons, ligaments, capsules, joints and discs to determine the best treatment.
The chiropractic adjustment is a technique of high precision strain on the joints, usually with the hands, by qualified professionals. The adjustment provides relaxation of the joint, which allows the movement to restore and optimize functions.
Sometimes when the adjustment of the joints is done, a bubble of air can be released, emitting the sound of a crack (called "cavitations") which you may have already heard of. In the clinic, we also use other techniques where there are no cavitations.

F.A.Q.
Do I need a reference from my physician to see a chiropractor?
-No, it is not necessary to have a reference from your physician. Chiropractors are professionals of first contact. Though, chiropractic treatments are not covered by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec.
Are chiropractic expenses covered by my private insurance?
-Most of the insurance companies cover chiropractic charges.
Why do you need to take X-rays?
-X-Rays are very useful to establish the appropriate diagnostic. They are also used to verify the joints, soft tissues and vertebras alignment. They can also indicate potential contraindications.
